FLMC (EP)
2024.

FLMC stands for Fancy Lake Missouri Creek. They are some parts of nature in Colorado; the map is of them and the distance I was away from them. I took that photo in 2021 when I camped/hiked out there for some time. I made this project in 2024 and I was thinking about that time a lot. It was after I graduated High School, I flew out there to meet a friend; it was a really great time. But I found it strange that it popped in my head; these songs were also strange as I feel they just appeared.

They were some of the first songs I made with the combination of the Moog DFAM and Korg Minilogue. Every sound was made with these instruments and some processing in Ableton. Most of the lyrics I freestyled and at some point I stumbled across the line “past tense I want to start again”. This phrase kinda made it all make sense for me. It’s ironic and desperate; I think I was tapping into things that I couldn’t reach again, physically. But mentally I was right next to those things. It felt like I made those tracks as if they were from memory. But it also felt like the first time I really actually made music.
CASS (EP)
2025.

Unintentially another acronym, I just don’t love long titles. CASS… stands for Copy Add Sticker Share… . It is a tool on the iPhone when you hold down a part of a photo you took. You can then make a sticker out of the photo. There is something in taking one thing from a photo, either to edit, to share, etc. There is something in the process of too; Apple made it feel like a sequence of instructions or something. It is definitely psychological from them.

Anyway, this process felt like this is the way I made all these songs. All the songs have strong samples (copy), added keys/vocals/etc (add sticker), and then I share (share…) - or that is the expectation. The dot dot dot is strong presence too.

I wanted to make songs my parents could like; a formula seemed like a path for that. So did singing and really writing lyrics. All the usual conventions! Right?
